HOW WE’RE DIFFERENT
Six differences you can measure.
in molds or tooling. Built to any footprint or capacity, to the 1/8″.
the exterior wall thickness. 1/2″ sheet standard, 3/4″ available, 1″ covers available.
the cost and the weight of a comparable custom stainless tank.
smaller daily swings in DEF temperature.
expected service life, with a 25-year structural design life calculated per DVS 2205.
pressure test on every tank, after hydrostatic and spark testing to DVS standards.
*Estimates. Cost and weight against a comparable 7-gauge 304 stainless tank; temperature from a 72-hour day/night analysis. Stainless and rotomolded figures reflect typical industry practice and vary by supplier.
MARKET COMPARISON
Three ways to build a DEF tank.
Stainless and rotomolded entries reflect typical industry practice, not any specific supplier, and vary by manufacturer.
THERMAL PERFORMANCE
A 200°F service window. Wider than DEF needs.
The gold band is what DEF needs. The maroon band is what the tank is rated for. Everything a DEF tank sees in service sits inside it.
A 200°F service window
−20°F to 180°F continuous, with short-term capability to 200°F.
Wider than DEF needs
DEF freezes at 12°F, and its shelf life shortens as storage temperature rises past 86°F. The tank is never the limiting factor.
Real-world margin
The hottest air temperature ever recorded in the United States is 134°F, 46°F below the continuous rating. Softening does not begin until about 250°F.
Colder than −20°F at your site? Tell us at quote and we will specify to it.
SERVICE LIFE · UV
Sunlight only ever touches the surface.
The structure underneath does not know it is outside. Sunlight reaches no deeper into our wall than into anyone else’s, and ours has two to three times the material behind it.
the exterior wall of a rotomolded tank. Our standard 1/2″ wall is about twice a typical 1/4″ to 5/16″ rotomolded wall; the 3/4″ option is up to three times.
Peer-reviewed studies put UV photo-oxidation at only about 0.2 mm into polypropylene. The gold strip is that zone, drawn to scale: under 4% of our 1/2″ wall.
The UV stabilizer is built into the sheet by the manufacturer, through its full thickness. It is not a coating that can wear off.
*Rotomolded wall thickness reflects typical industry practice, 1/4″ to 5/16″, and varies by supplier. Bars are drawn to scale.
SERVICE LIFE · DESIGN LIFE
Three numbers, each with its basis.
Structural design life
Calculated per DVS 2205 creep-rupture methodology at a 73°F average temperature. DVS 2205 is the international code for welded thermoplastic tanks.
Expected service life, indoors
Anchored by the 50-year design basis of polypropylene pressure-pipe standards (ISO 9080 / ISO 15874), which assume far harsher continuous loads than an atmospheric tank sees.
Expected service life, outdoors
Black, UV-stabilized construction, grounded in published carbon-black weathering science.
QUALITY STANDARDS
Welded to DVS standards.
DVS, the German Welding Society, sets the global benchmark for thermoplastic welding. Every Collab weld is executed inside its parameters, and every seam is prepped, fused, and tested the same way, every time.
Material prep
Surfaces are cleaned and prepped immediately before welding. Fusion strength starts with contamination-free material.
Welding speed
Travel speed is held inside the DVS window so the material fully fuses. Never rushed, never scorched.
Angle
The welder is held at the specified angle for full, even penetration on every seam.
Pressure
Controlled, consistent pressure bonds the bead and parent sheet into one homogeneous joint.
Equipment and operators
Calibrated welding equipment only, in the hands of trained, qualified operators.
OUR COMMITMENT
What comes with every tank.
Limited warranty
Included on every tank (SPEC_0100).
Average lead time
After approved drawings. Confirmed with each quote.
Made in the USA
Built in Ocala, Florida.
Trained to the standard
Every operator, tester, and inspector is trained to the applicable DVS standards.
Recyclable
Every tank we build is fully recyclable.
QUESTIONS WE GET
The questions engineers ask before they switch.
Is a welded polypropylene tank strong enough to replace stainless?
For atmospheric DEF, water, and compatible industrial fluids, yes. Our tanks are designed per DVS 2205 with 1/2″ exterior walls, gusseted where the design requires it, and every tank is hydrostatically and spark tested and pressure tested to 1.5 PSI before it ships.
How does polypropylene hold up outdoors in direct sun?
Our tanks are welded from black, UV-stabilized copolymer polypropylene sheet. The sheet supplier compounds the stabilizer through the full thickness at extrusion, so sunlight affects less than 0.5 mm of the surface and the structure behind it is untouched. The 180°F continuous rating sits 46°F above the hottest air temperature ever recorded in the United States. The expected outdoor service life is 20 years.
Is polypropylene compatible with DEF?
Yes. Polypropylene and polyethylene are among the materials recommended for DEF storage under ISO 22241, alongside austenitic stainless. Unlike carbon steel, aluminum, copper, or zinc-plated parts, polypropylene cannot corrode or leach trace metals into the fluid.
Can a welded poly tank be repaired or modified later?
Yes. Extrusion-welded polypropylene can be re-welded, and ports can be added or relocated by a qualified thermoplastic welder. Talk to us before modifying a tank in the field so the repair stays inside the warranty.
Do you also build in HDPE?
Yes. HDPE is available where the application calls for it, with the same welded construction and testing. Ask us for the HDPE specification for your project.

GETTING STARTED
Send us a specification or a drawing.
That is all it takes to start. You get a quote with a rendering of your tank, then a submittal drawing with every port placed and every dimension finalized before we cut sheet.
You send a spec or a drawing
A formal drawing, a sketch, or just the footprint, capacity, and fluid. Port sizes, mounting, and quantity help if you have them.
We return a quote with a rendering
Your tank drawn to your dimensions, so you can see the fit before you commit.
You approve a submittal drawing
Ports placed, features selected, dimensions finalized. Production starts on your approval.
